Late Sept 2025 Progress Report
Shouting from the midst of a brewing storm. Still surviving, hoping to thrive.
New progress report:
- 26th passed. Hell finally started freezing over. Things’ll get better soon.
- Never mentioned it, but my birthday was this month! Couldn’t really celebrate or post about it, though. Things have been rough.
- Spent most of my efforts writing this month, though progress has been slow.
When it comes to writing, I realized yesterday that I’m too much of a perfectionist in my drafts. I have an outline scoped out and know how I want my story to go, but I equate bad phrasing with bad pathing, and end up spending hours redrafting as a result. I end up with something I like, but only after slogging through mud.
I’ve heard the ideal is to spit the draft out roughly to get ideas down and then edit in post once the chapter’s done to get the voice right. Haven’t been able to actualize that yet, though. Perhaps a show of my inexperience as a long-form writer. But awareness and mindful effort invites growth.
For now I’ll keep iterating, but If any of you have had similar struggles, I’d love to hear about it!
Beyond that, I plan to get back on the boat with things I’ve been neglecting over the next month, spending more time on visual arts, streams, and working to build some sort of income. Soon™️
